Plant Inventory

Regrowth control

Restocking options include planting, seeding, or natural regeneration. If regeneration yields too few plants, timely and expensive restocking is imperative. On the other hand, excessive plant density may lead to unnecessary and costly pre-commercial thinning.

Plant inventory

Conifer Visions Plant Inventory analysis enhances forest regeneration assessment and management, providing significant value to forest owners by ensuring healthy forest development.

Regrowth control can start one growing season after planting and to continue with a suitable interval, depending on site-specific factors.

Plant Inventory benefits forest stakeholders responsible for restocking by providing vital insights on plant density and overall plantation condition, reducing risks of growth loss.

  • Optimizing restocking through plant density insights, preventing costly interventions.
  • Enabling regular monitoring for successful regeneration and long-term management.
  • Facilitating early detection and timely interventions for growth issues.
  • Combining with ground preparation analysis for comprehensive restocking control.
  • Identifying problem areas and managing intervention efficiency.
Reducing growth loss risks and ensuring effective forest regeneration.

Results include comprehensive site documentation containing a high-resolution image with detailed plant metrics over the entire restocking area.

  • High-resolution image covering the entire restocking area
  • Area size
  • Plant species
  • Plant position
  • Number of living plants
  • Density, number of living plants per hectare
  • Density heatmap
  • Aggregated metrics
  • API for system integration

How It Works

Drones collect forest images using high-resolution cameras. Then, all images are uploaded to our online AI service, where analysis is performed under our supervision.

Images and analysis results are displayed in our online application as well as distributed to any customer forest management system, GIS system or online forest plan management system.

Drones can be flown by customers themselves or by professional pilots. A skilled pilot can cover up to 500 hectares per day with a high-resolution flying pattern, giving our solutions great coverage of large forest areas.
